5 Arrested in Billings Heights Brick-Throwing Spree
Billings police arrested five individuals early Wednesday morning after they allegedly threw bricks at multiple vehicles in the 200 block of Covert Lane in Billings Heights. The incident unfolded around 1:45 a.m., when officers responded to reports of teenagers targeting cars, according to Billings Police Lt. Samantha Puckett. The suspects—ages 11, 12, 13, 16 and the lone adult, 21-year-old Donovan Elkboy—face felony criminal mischief charges for the destruction.
Police identified and apprehended all suspects at the scene, ending the rampage that left neighborhood vehicles battered. Elkboy, the oldest, was booked on the felony charge, while the four juveniles will face similar charges through youth services. One resident, Frank No, told KTVQ a brick struck his car but did not shatter the window, calling the early-morning violence shocking for the typically peaceful Heights area.
Authorities urged Heights residents with vehicle or property damage to contact non-emergency dispatch at 406-657-8200, referencing case number 26-26230. The spree highlights rare but brazen vandalism in Billings' east-side neighborhoods, where such felony-level destruction involving minors and an adult is uncommon. Investigations continue as police assess the full extent of damages.
