A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Southern Harrison, effective immediately, by the National Weather Service (NWS) in New Orleans. This warning impacts Gulfport, Biloxi, Pass Christian, and Long Beach.
Residents in these areas should prepare for dangerous winds between 58 to 73 mph, with peak wind forecasts of 20-30 mph and gusts up to 45 mph. Efforts to protect life and property, including securing loose objects, should be underway now. Significant damage to roofing, siding, and mobile homes is possible, and some roads may become impassable due to debris. Scattered power outages are also anticipated.
Life-threatening storm surge of 3-5 feet above ground is possible from Friday morning until Saturday morning. Evacuation efforts and flood preparations should be completed before conditions become unsafe. If evacuation orders are given for your area, leave immediately to avoid being cut off from emergency services. Significant inundation and damage to coastal structures are expected, along with major beach erosion.
