A Freeze Warning is in effect for the Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon and Washington, North Central Oregon, Kittitas Valley, Yakima Valley, and the Foothills of the Blue Mountains of both Oregon and Washington. The National Weather Service (NWS) Pendleton has issued this warning, which is active from 11 PM PDT tonight, October 12, until 9 AM PDT on Tuesday, October 13.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit are expected. These conditions could be detrimental to crops and other sensitive outdoor vegetation. Additionally, unprotected outdoor plumbing may sustain damage.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to take immediate steps to protect tender plants from the cold. Cover them or bring them indoors if possible. Ensure any exposed outdoor pipes are insulated or drained to prevent freezing.
