LAUDERHILL, FL - What was initially reported as an overdose incident on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 2101 NW 49th Ave in Lauderhill, has now been updated to include a confirmed gas leak or gas odor at the same location. Emergency responders were first dispatched at 9:59 PM for an overdose, according to emergency dispatch.

Subsequent dispatch updates confirmed a gas leak/gas odor at the address, prompting the deployment of additional resources. While the initial dispatch listed 10 units responding, updated information indicates a total of 12 units were ultimately dispatched to the scene, including R30, E30, Q110, BC57, DST30, RADIO/TAC1, SN/BC39, SN/HM92, FL/HM53, and FL/BC46, with two additional units added to the response.
