St. Augustine Public Works: Daily Litter Crew & Weekly Sweeping

St. Augustine residents can expect continued attention to public sanitation from the city's Public Works Department. A dedicated litter crew works seven days a week, targeting the historic downtown, public parks and the boat ramp within city limits.

In addition to daily litter removal, the city sweeps streets across eight zones on a weekly rotation. Residents can anticipate their streets being swept approximately three to four times annually. During peak seasons, sweeping frequency may increase based on debris volume and specific area needs.

The city reminds residents to bag yard waste, such as leaves and grass clippings, and place it curbside for weekly collection, rather than blowing or sweeping it into the street.

To assist street sweeping operations, residents should move their vehicles when sweeping operators are scheduled for their neighborhood. Zone maps for street sweeping services are available.
