Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Take Shelter in La Paz, AZ Immediately

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for La Paz County, AZ, including Parker and parts of AZ Route 95, until 6:15 PM MST tonight, with 60 mph wind gusts expected. Take shelter immediately.

LA PAZ COUNTY, AZ – A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for parts of La Paz County, Arizona, effective immediately until 6:15 PM MST tonight, September 16, 2026.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Phoenix, AZ, issued the warning at 5:49 PM MST. A severe thunderstorm was located over Parker, moving east at 15 mph. This storm poses a hazard of 60 mph wind gusts, confirmed by radar indications.

Residents in the impacted areas should expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. The primary location impacted is Parker. Additionally, this warning includes AZ Route 95 between mile markers 133 and 146, and between mile markers 148 and 152.

For your protection, the NWS advises moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Remain indoors until the warning expires.
