Notice of Public Hearing The Miami County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 7:00 PM in the Commission Chambers of the Miami County Courthouse, 201 S. Pearl Street, Paola, Kansas to consider the following proposed amendments to the Unified Development Regulations: Amendments to the Miami County Unified Development Regulations Article 2, Definitions: Amend the definition of “Amusement, Commercial” and “Recreation, Commercial, Outdoor” and add a new definition for “Event Center or Venue”. Article 6, Zoning Regulations Amend the Use Regulations for the “AG” Agricultural District, “RR” Rural Residential District, “R-1” Single-Family Residential District, “R-2” Two-Family Residential District, “R-3” Multi-Family Residential District, “C-1” Neighborhood Commercial District, “C-2” General Commercial District, “I-1” Light Industrial District, and “I-2” Heavy Industrial District. Article 8, Landscaping Amend Section 8.03.030, General Standards, Subsection B., Plant Material Size Requirements. A complete copy of the proposed amendments is available for review in the Miami County Planning and Zoning Office, located in the Miami County Courthouse, 201 S. Pearl Street, Paola, Kansas, and on the County’s website at www.miamicountyks.org. All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing and comment on the proposed amendments. Written comments may be submitted to the Planning and Zoning Office prior to the public hearing.
