Panama City Beach residents are invited to celebrate the Easter season with Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church, which has announced its schedule for upcoming Holy Week and Easter services. The church, located behind the main beach area, will host a series of events designed to engage the community in reflection and worship.
The observance begins with Holy Week services. A Maundy Thursday service is scheduled for March 28th at 6:00 PM in the Sanctuary. This will be followed by a Good Friday service on March 29th at 6:00 PM, also in the Sanctuary. These services aim to provide an opportunity for congregants to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Easter Sunday celebrations will commence with a Sunrise Service on the beach behind the church at 6:30 AM. Following the sunrise service, a light breakfast will be served in the Fellowship Hall. The church will then hold its Traditional Service at 8:30 AM in the Sanctuary, and a Contemporary Service at 11:00 AM, also in the Sanctuary.
Rev. Amy Sosnowski, in a message to the congregation, expressed gratitude for the community's dedication and encouraged continued reflection on the Beatitudes. "As we transition into the Easter season, let us continue to reflect on what it means to be blessed. Let us continue to show compassion, to be meek, to hunger and thirst for righteousness, to be merciful, to be pure in heart, to be peacemakers, and to rejoice and be glad when we are persecuted," Sosnowski stated.
Beyond the Easter services, Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church offers various ministries and service opportunities. These include Sunday School classes for all ages, Women's Ministry, Men's Ministry, and a Youth Group. The church also participates in community outreach, such as volunteering at the local food bank, assisting with Habitat for Humanity, and holding monthly Serve Sundays.
Residents interested in participating in any of the services or learning more about the church's ministries are encouraged to attend. Information on involvement and service opportunities is available through the church.
