Councilmember Joyce Morgan, who represents the district, championed the project, citing the need for accessible community resources in the area. The center will feature a gymnasium, computer lab, classrooms, and a multi-purpose room. It is planned to host various programs suitable for all ages, including after-school programs, senior activities, and family workshops. The city expects to break ground on the center in the first quarter of 2025, with completion anticipated within 18 months. The funding will come from the city's capital improvement budget.
