The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) held a public hearing Thursday, July 16, 2026, to present plans for widening Florida's Turnpike (SR 91) in Palm Beach County. The proposed project will expand the turnpike from six to eight general-use lanes and add an auxiliary lane in each direction between north of Glades Road and north of the L-38 Canal.

FDOT also plans to realign the southbound off-ramp at the Glades Road interchange. These improvements aim to enhance mobility and traffic flow for motorists traveling through southern Palm Beach County.

Vice Mayor Marci Woodward attended the hearing to understand the project's design and offer community feedback. The hearing provided an opportunity for residents, local leaders, and stakeholders to review the proposed improvements, ask questions, and share perspectives.

"She looks forward to continuing to follow the project as plans for progress and transportation improvements are considered for this important corridor in Palm Beach County," stated a representative after the hearing.

Residents can find more information on the FDOT website.
