Second Harvest of Big Bend CEO Monique Ellsworth Steps Down

Monique Ellsworth will step down as CEO of Second Harvest of the Big Bend on May 15 after nearly seven years, the organization's Board of Directors announced Thursday. She will become CEO of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

Jacob Reiter will serve as interim CEO, supported by James McGowan and Arun Dhanarajan. The Board will begin searching for a permanent replacement in the coming weeks.

During Ellsworth's tenure since October 2019, Second Harvest expanded into five additional counties, opened a new Impact Center facility, and maintained operations through the COVID-19 pandemic and three consecutive hurricanes.

"Monique has guided the organization through significant challenges and growth," Board Chair Daniel Petronio said. "We're grateful for her leadership and dedication to feeding individuals and families across the Big Bend region."
