Oviedo residents might soon see a familiar face, or at least a familiar name, on their television screens. New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson is set to guest star on the NBC drama series 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' for its upcoming 28th season.
The collaboration has been in the works for some time, reportedly stemming from a friendship between Brunson and 'SVU' star Mariska Hargitay. Hargitay, a noted Knicks fan, was frequently seen courtside during the team's playoff run this past June, often seen celebrating with Brunson after games. The Knicks clinched their first championship in 53 years in June.
Following the championship win, Brunson humorously responded to questions about his offseason plans by stating, "Try to get on SVU." The show's official Instagram account later confirmed the news, posting, "When the plans finally make it out of the group chat. Jalen Brunson is officially headed to #SVU!"
Brunson is scheduled to appear in the episode airing on November 5. The specifics of his role remain under wraps, leaving fans to speculate about his on-screen character.
This television appearance follows Brunson's involvement with Hargitay in the opening segment of the 78th Emmy Awards, which Hargitay hosted. Additionally, Brunson is slated to host the season 52 premiere of 'Saturday Night Live' on September 26.
