Two Good Samaritans and an Orange County sheriff's deputy rescued a woman from a burning car after a crash on Apopka Vineland Road, a major thoroughfare connecting northwest Orange County to tourist areas. The rescue occurred moments before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.

The incident began when a 911 caller reported a car had crashed into a tree and caught fire. Deputies and firefighters responded.

Body-camera footage from the Orange County Sheriff's Office shows thick smoke filling the car's interior and flames consuming its roof. The trapped woman cried out in fear.

Justin Rountree, one of the rescuers, stated he heard the crash and saw smoke while driving nearby. He immediately stopped to help. Rountree, another Good Samaritan, and an Orange County deputy worked to free the woman. The driver's side door was pinned against the tree, preventing it from opening. The rescuers focused on the passenger side, and Rountree described pulling off the sunroof to assist in the extraction.

The trio pulled the woman from the vehicle. Paramedics transported her to a local hospital. The Orange County Sheriff's Office later shared the story on social media to identify the Good Samaritans.

Rountree said he sought no recognition, only the opportunity to offer the woman a hug.

Authorities have not released an update on the woman's condition. The Orange County Sheriff's Office and the second Good Samaritan could not be immediately reached for comment.
