Orlando: America's Top Coffee City (WalletHub)

Orlando earned the top spot as the best coffee city in America, according to a recent WalletHub analysis. The city also led the nation in the number of coffee and tea shops offering free Wi-Fi per capita.

WalletHub compared 100 of the most populated U.S. cities, examining 12 indicators for coffee lovers. These factors included the density of coffee shops, average coffee prices and the percentage of residents who own coffee-making equipment at home.

Orlando's ranking stems from multiple factors. Households in the city spend an average of over $154 annually on coffee. The study highlighted the numerous coffee and tea establishments providing free Wi-Fi as a significant draw for remote workers and students. Orlando also scored well for its ample supply of coffee shops and a good number of affordable options with ratings of at least 4.5 out of 5 stars. For those seeking a sweet pairing, Orlando offered the highest number of donut shops per capita among the surveyed cities.

Portland, Oregon, placed second, noted for its many affordable and highly-rated coffee shops. Miami ranked third.

WalletHub’s analysis used data from August 19, 2026, sourced from the U.S. Census Bureau, Council for Community and Economic Research, and Yelp, among others.

Nationally, coffee remains a daily ritual for many Americans, with 66% of people drinking coffee every day, according to a National Coffee Association survey.
