David Glen Maples, 72, Dies in Semmes
David Glen Maples, 72, of Semmes, Alabama, died Sept. 23, 2026. He served as a welder and pipe fitter for Mobile County Government and was married to Beverly Andrews for 51 years.

David Glen Maples, 72, of Semmes, Alabama, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026.
Born May 16, 1954, in Mobile, Alabama, Maples worked for the Mobile County Government as a welder and pipe fitter.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved his animals.
Maples married Beverly Andrews in 1975. They shared 51 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Andrews Maples, and daughter Melissa Lynn Maples. He also leaves siblings David Wayne Rester, Mary Ann West, Cecelia Ann Odom, Thomas Maples, Laronda Andrews, and Cindy Emge, along with many other family members and friends.
Maples was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Maples and Pauline Prine Maples, and siblings Eleanor Powell, Brenda Capps, and Julius "Bubby" Maples Jr.
A public visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile, Alabama. The funeral service will follow Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the same location. A graveside service will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, 8730 Sims Road, Eight Mile, Alabama.
