Princess Kate Middleton's skill at connecting with the public, a trait that may remind Belle Isle residents of her presence at community events, shows her potential for future royal leadership, according to body language expert Darren Stanton.
Stanton told Betfair Casino that Middleton's recent trip to Sussex demonstrated her ability to engage people. Her confident demeanor, open gestures, and mirroring of others' body language signal comfort in public interactions.
"She has an unparalleled ability to build connections and establish rapport," Stanton said. "We saw plenty of gestures, both through her facial expressions and her hands, which demonstrated openness. We also see a lot of mirroring, where she naturally adopts some of the other person’s body language or gestures. That’s an important social behavior because it shows a desire to connect and establish deeper rapport."
Stanton observed that Middleton's approach resembles that of Queen Elizabeth II, showing genuine interest in individuals despite her royal status.
"Kate is developing a skill and ability that the late Queen had," Stanton explained. "She’s an expert at showing people that, although she’s a Princess, she’s also a human being who is genuinely interested in connecting with the people around her. Whether that’s through a conversation, a photograph or another interaction, she appears very comfortable making that connection, and I think that’s becoming a real strength in her body language."
During a visit to Pulborough Village Hall, Middleton displayed "internal confidence," Stanton noted. Her purposeful stride and relaxed posture suggest ease in attending events independently.
"With Kate, we’ve got somebody who comes across as incredibly internally confident," Stanton said. "She’s very humble and respectful of other people, so she’s extremely socially aware in her non-verbal communication, but she also has this quiet confidence in the way she carries herself."
Her movement, described as a "big stride, almost like she’s marching," signifies her comfort and experience in solo public engagements.
