Homeowners in the Apopka Community Redevelopment Agency district can now apply for up to $30,000 each to repair their homes through a newly launched assistance program.
The Residential Renovation Assistance Program allocated $1.58 million for the 2026/2027 budget year. Owner-occupied single-family homes, duplexes, and townhomes qualify. Eligible improvements include roofing, windows and doors, driveways, porches, exterior painting, and landscaping.
"Investments in new roofs and energy-efficient windows help protect families and homes, and they can reduce homeowners' insurance costs," said Antranette Forbes, the city's Economic Development Director.
Last year's program awarded roughly $960,000 to 35 homes, including 16 new roofs and five ADA projects.
The city will review applications for eligibility and award grants on a first-come, first-served basis until funds run out. Homeowners can apply online through the Apopka Community Redevelopment Agency page or call 407-703-1654.
