Students can join Church Street School for Music and Art (CSSMA) on weekday afternoons for our many creative arts programs! From 60-minute studio art and Improv classes that explore specific topics and media in depth, to our three-hour after school program Creative Arts Club (3PM-6PM), which ranges widely across artistic disciplines during the course of the semester, after school at Church Street School is the perfect way for students to stretch their creativity after a day in the classroom.
Pick-up services from local public and independent schools are available at a fee of $360 (cash) / $370.80 (credit) per semester.
*Program prices are prorated to reflect the number of sessions per semester & student start date.
Programs Offered:
5 - 12 yrs: Creative Arts Club - In our hands-on, process-oriented after school program, students embark on an open-ended art experience limited only by the bounds of their creativity.
12 - 18 yrs: Portfolio Deep Dive & Development - Students will explore a wide range of art techniques and gain confidence in their personal artistic voice.
5 yrs & up: Private Art Lesson - Receive one-on-one visual art instruction from a member of the CSSMA Arts Faculty!
7 - 9 yrs (I) | 10 - 14 yrs (II): Drawing Technique I & II - In our drawing studio, students of all abilities will build techniques for drawing from observation and imagination!"

16 - 36 mos: Summer Arts Medley - Award-winning class for toddlers and parent/caregivers combining music and art disciplines that encourage bonding and development of social skills
8 Years & Up: Summer Band Factory - Weeklong band program coached by experienced educator/professional musician
3 - 5 yrs: Summer Arts for Children - Afternoon of creative activities including music, movement, visual art, free play and more
5 yrs - adult: Private Instrumental Lessons - Flexible music lessons on individual basis. Choose piano, guitar, bass, strings, drums, woodwinds, or voice
5 - 7 years & 8 - 12 years: Full Day Summer Arts Program - Includes full roster of rotating classes, weekly field trips, and more
21 Years & up: Amateur Adult Chamber Workshop - Weekend in Tribeca, New York City exploring Chamber Music in ensemble setting

Discover, improvise and play!
Our instrumental program offers students ages 5 years to adult the opportunity to learn the joy of playing a musical instrument while studying with highly skilled, professional musicians. Our lessons are focused on technique, sight-reading, and music theory, while also giving students the space to discover their unique styles, interests and ability to improvise. Be sure to ask about in-home lessons and discounted off-peak lessons*!
*5% scholarship available for Private Lesson registrations between 6:30pm-9pm. Not applicable to package deals.

- Private Instrumental & Voice Lessons (5yrs & up): One-on-one lessons for students of all ages with professional faculty. All instruments and experience levels.
- Choristers (5-12 Years): Free children's chorus program focusing on love of music through the human voice.
- Guitar Lab (7-12 yrs): Group class for learning guitar fundamentals while playing with peers.
- Band Factory (8yrs & up): Group class for all levels and music styles.
- Partner Instrumental & Voice Lessons (5yrs & up): Two students share lesson time. Available for parent-child or friends learning together.
- World Drumming Ensemble (5-12 yrs): Students learn foundational rhythms and techniques on hand drums, djembe, shakers, and percussion instruments.
- Violin Lab (7-12 yrs): Supportive group class for young violinists to develop ensemble skills.
- Group Piano and Eurhythmics (5-8 yrs): Dalcroze Instructor-led keyboard class incorporating Eurhythmics principles.
- Piano Lab (7-12 yrs): Dynamic group piano class in collaborative setting.
- Theory Workshop (7-12 yrs): Interactive introduction to music theory."
DRAW, PAINT, & SIP
"Join interdisciplinary artist and educator Scott Walsh every Friday for a fun exploration of drawing and painting for adults. Seasoned artists and creative novices alike are invited to tap into their unique artistic voice and enjoy the physical process of creating in a relaxed, social atmosphere. Unwind, laugh, sip, and leave with a one of a kind masterpiece. Each Friday evening class focuses on different techniques or media including charcoal, still life, watercolor, portraits, and more! Beer & Wine are Included. Bring a friend and receive a 25% scholarship on your next Draw, Paint, & Sip session when they sign up!
