Eight Arrests Made in Investigation of Online Forums Promoting Harm Against Women

Why it matters locally: While the arrests were part of a national investigation, the nature of online forums means individuals in California could be among the 270 identified by the NCA, potentially leading to local investigations by agencies like the Los Angeles Police Department.

Law enforcement officials have arrested eight individuals in connection with online forums that advocate for the drugging and sexual assault of women. The National Crime Agency (NCA) identified 270 individuals linked to these websites. The arrests followed an investigation into the online platforms. The NCA has continued its work to identify and investigate those involved with these forums.
