Building & Planning REGARDING BUILDING PERMITS AFTER HURRICANE HELENE/MILTON DAMAGE Hurricane Damage Affadavit Permitting Info - Post Storm How to register as a Contractor How to apply for a permit The Building and Planning Department is responsible for the building and safety standards for the design, construction, use, and occupancy, of all buildings and structures within the City of Bradenton Beach. We provide plan review, permitting, and inspection services for new construction, additions, renovations, alterations, and remodels to assure all structures meet the minimum life safety standards of State and local building codes adopted by the City of Bradenton Beach. The Florida Building Code and Florida State Statutes regulating building and contractor requirements are accessible online. INSPECTIONS: List of Inspections for Bradenton Beach ALL REQUESTS FOR INSPECTIONS CAN BE MADE BY LOGGING IN TO CITIZENSERVE PORTAL TO REQUEST AN INSPECTION BY 2:00PM THE BUSINESS DAY BEFORE THE REQUESTED INSPECTION. WE DO ACCEPT ROOFING AFFADAVITS. PLEASE EMAIL IN FOR REQUIRED DOCUMENTS PRE-PLAN MEETINGS: CAN BE SCHEDULED AS EITHER ON-SITE OR IN OFFICE APPOINTMENT BY CALLING THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT. PLEASE SUBMIT ANY DOCUMENTS FOR PREVIEW BY THE BUILDING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT BY ELECTRONIC MEANS SUCH AS EMAIL OR FAX PRIOR TO THE PRE-PLAN MEETING. PERMITTING: ALL PERMIT APPLICATIONS CAN BE SUBMITTTED ONLINE USING THE CITIZENSERVE ONLINE PORTAL. ALL APPLICATIONS RECIEVED VIA EMAIL OR HAND DELIVERED WILL BE ENTERED INTO THE ONLINE SYSTEM WITHIN TWO BUSINESS DAYS. ONCE THE APPLICATION DOCUMENTATION IS DEEMED COMPLETE BY THE PERMIT INTAKE TECH IT WILL BEGIN THE REVIEW PROCESS. APPLICATIONS MAY BE REVIEWED FOR ZONING, STORMWATER, FLOODPLAIN AND BUILDING CODE COMPLIANCE AS DETERMINED BY THE SCOPE OF WORK BEING COMPLETED. ONCE ALL REVIEWS ARE COMPLETE AND ANY DEFICIENCIES ARE MET BY THE APPLICANT, THE APPLICATION IS RETURNED BACK TO THE PERMIT TECH FOR A FINAL COMPLETNESS CHECK AND THE CONTRACTOR IS NOTIFIED VIA EMAIL THAT THE PERMIT IS READY FOR FINAL PAYMENT AND ISSUANCE. Customer Service Your development experience starts at our Building & Planning Department located at the Bradenton Beach City Hall. Staff will assist you with the processing of your development project and guide you through this somewhat complex process. After all of the reviews and approvals are complete, you will be ready to obtain your building permits. How to register as a Contractor How to apply for a permit Flood Information The entire City of Bradenton Beach is located within a Flood Zone. Being located on a barrier island can mean additional State and Federal agencies are involved in the permitting process. Florida Department of Environmental Protection or FDEP permits for Coastal Construction Control Line for land development projects. Federal Emergency Management Agency or FEMA documentation may be required, such as Elevation Certificates or a FEMA 50% Substantial Damage / Substantial Improvement assessment. Most domestic mailings with a tracking or extra services barcode are eligible for Package Intercept. Retail Senders: You can redirect a shipment back to your address or to a Post Office™ location as Hold For Pickup. You can only request a Package Intercept online with a USPS.com account. Commercial Senders: You can redirect a shipment back to your address, to a new delivery address, or to a Post Office location as Hold For Pickup via Business Customer Gateway. How It Works Verify that your shipment is eligible for Package Intercept. If eligible, sign in to or create a USPS.com account to submit your request. Use Retail Package Intercept to request that USPS redirect the shipment back to the original sender (you), hold it at the destination Post Office location, or hold it at a new Post Office location. After submitting your request, you’ll be provided an estimated total (intercept fee plus estimated postage, if applicable). We will then attempt to intercept and redirect the shipment. If the shipment is intercepted, your credit card will be charged the $19.45 Package Intercept fee plus any applicable postage. If the actual postage is greater than estimated, any additional postage will be charged accordingly. Your shipment will be redirected to the location you requested. Intercept a Retail Package Paying for Package Intercept Intercepted items will be redirected as the service it was originally sent with (Priority Mail Express®, Priority Mail®, USPS Ground Advantage®, or First-Class Mail®). You must pay the applicable postage. Customers will not be charged if the shipment was not intercepted. If successfully intercepted, the non-refundable Package Intercept fee is applied to each intercept request.
