JetBlue Airways expanded its Fort Lauderdale operations Tuesday with a new daily nonstop international route and a sponsorship deal with a performing arts venue.
The New York-based airline launched the service Oct. 1, connecting Fort Lauderdale with Ernesto. This marks the first time JetBlue has served this destination from Fort Lauderdale.
The airline also entered into a sponsorship agreement with a performing arts venue in Broward County. The partnership deepens the airline's local ties.
JetBlue, traded as Nasdaq: JBLU, expects the expansion to improve connectivity and support regional tourism and cultural sectors.
