The City of Oldsmar has outlined procedures for residents seeking access to public records through multiple channels: an online portal, in-person visits to City Hall, email, mail, phone, or telephone.
Residents can visit the City Clerk's Office on the second floor of City Hall at 100 State Street West, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays. Email requests go to the records department. Phone requests reach 813-749-1115. Kristin Garcia, the city's records management liaison and city clerk, processes requests.
The city provides the first 10 pages of copies free. Additional single-sided copies cost $0.15 each; double-sided copies cost $0.20 each. Certified copies are $1 each. Requests requiring more than 15 minutes of staff time incur a special service charge. The City Clerk provides an estimate for such requests and requires a deposit of half the estimated fee before work begins.
Some records, like the city budget, are available on the city website. Others require time for location, review for exempt information, and redaction under Florida Statutes Chapter 119 and the state constitution.
