Melissa & Doug Fire Truck Recall in Oldsmar: Choking Hazard

Oldsmar families should inspect their toy collections for Melissa & Doug Lights and Sound Fire Trucks. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of approximately 84,000 units because the fire hose port can detach, posing a choking hazard.

Consumers can identify recalled trucks by specific date codes. Look for arrows pointing to '25' for the year and '4' or '5' on the second arrow. Alternatively, the first arrow may point to '26' and the second to '3'. Date codes OET 25100, OET 25150, or OET 26064 are also printed on the packaging.

The toys sold nationwide at Target stores and online between July 2025 and August 2026 for about $30. The Melissa & Doug brand name appears on the battery compartment box located on the toy's underside.

To receive a free replacement or a refund, consumers must register the recalled product on the Melissa & Doug website. The process requires removing the batteries, writing "RECALL" and a unique code on the toy's front, cutting off the black hose, and uploading photos of the modified toy.
