ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. – Mark Asea, a Florida man identifying as a "cybersecurity engineer" and "Grey Hat Hacker" on social media, was arrested last week on charges of illegally accessing a woman's electronic devices and disseminating private conversations online. The arrest occurred after an investigation, initially closed earlier this year, was reopened.
Asea is accused of accessing a woman's devices and sharing content she considered private, including a TikTok video that allegedly displayed her password, device information, and banking details. The woman reported that some of this information was shared only within a private TikTok group chat and that she had not authorized Asea to share it. She also stated she did not know how he obtained her phone number and banking details.
Asea was held in the St. Lucie County Jail on a $35,000 bond. This marks a new legal challenge for Asea, who was previously arrested in April on stalking and computer-related charges. Prosecutors dropped those charges in May.
Court records show the new charge was filed in September, leading to his recent arrest. Another woman reported a similar experience, stating Asea remotely accessed her computer to assist with a program. She later found an image from a private Telegram message in one of his TikTok posts. Asea also promotes himself as a "demonologist" on social media.
