The National Weather Service in Tallahassee, FL, issued a Special Weather Statement today, October 11, 2026, at 12:44 AM EDT, effective until 1:30 AM EDT.
Doppler radar at 12:44 AM EDT located a strong thunderstorm near Cross City, moving northeast at 35 mph. The primary hazard associated with this storm is wind gusts up to 40 mph, as indicated by radar. These strong winds could cause tree limbs to fall and blow around unsecured outdoor objects.
Areas expected to be impacted include Cross City, Horseshoe Beach, Shamrock, Shired Island, Cross City Airport, Old Town, Eugene, Fletcher, and Guaranto Springs. If you are outdoors in these areas, the National Weather Service recommends seeking shelter inside a building until the storm passes.
