The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tallahassee has announced that the Severe Thunderstorm Warning previously issued for portions of Dixie and Taylor counties has expired as of 11:00 PM EDT on October 9, 2026. The storm that prompted the warning has weakened and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.

While the severe thunderstorm warning has concluded, residents should be aware that gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect for the Big Bend Florida area until 6:00 AM EDT on October 10, 2026. Residents in this area should continue to monitor weather conditions and be prepared to take shelter if a tornado warning is issued.
