July Fourth Celebrations Mark Multiple Shootings, Explosions Nationwide

Fourth of July celebrations across the United States included multiple incidents of violence, resulting in at least six fatalities and dozens of injuries in various cities.

In Washington D.C., authorities confirmed the death of one individual and reported the injury of nine others in a shooting. Mayor Muriel Bowser stated the shooting occurred in the northeastern part of the city. Commander Jason Bagshaw of the Metropolitan Police Department indicated that the area had been largely secured as of 1 a.m. Monday.

Another shooting incident took place in Shreveport, Louisiana, where three individuals died. Police reported these deaths during the holiday period. In Fort Worth, Texas, three other individuals died and eight sustained injuries in a separate shooting event.

Explosions also occurred during the holiday. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a nine-year-old boy sustained a traumatic injury to his hand due to fireworks just before 10 p.m. on Sunday. The child received medical attention for his injuries.

In Lansing, Michigan, another fireworks-related incident injured four people. Authorities confirmed these injuries during the Fourth of July period.

Authorities initiated investigations into each of these separate incidents.
