Coastal residents and visitors are advised that a Rip Current Statement has been issued for Mobile Coastal, Baldwin Coastal, Escambia Coastal, Santa Rosa Coastal, and Okaloosa Coastal counties. Dangerous rip currents are expected today, October 11, 2026, until 6:00 PM CDT.

The National Weather Service in Mobile, AL, issued this statement at 10:38 AM CDT. Rip currents pose a significant risk, capable of carrying even strong swimmers away from the shore into deeper water.

If you plan to enter the water, the National Weather Service strongly advises swimming near a lifeguard. Should you find yourself caught in a rip current, remain calm and float. Do not attempt to swim against the current. If possible, swim parallel to the shoreline to escape the current. If you cannot escape, face the shore and signal for help by calling or waving.
