Temple Terrace Water Restrictions Extended Until Oct 2026
The restrictions mandate a one-day-per-week watering schedule for all properties, irrespective of the water source. The assigned day depends on the last digit of a property's address:
- Monday: Addresses ending in 0 or 1
- Tuesday: Addresses ending in 2 or 3
- Wednesday: Addresses ending in 4 or 5
- Thursday: Addresses ending in 6 or 7
- Friday: Addresses ending in 8 or 9, and locations without a discernible address
Properties under one acre can water only between 12:01 AM and 4:00 AM or between 8:00 PM and 11:59 PM on their assigned day. Properties of one acre or larger may water before 10 AM or after 4 PM on their designated day.
Residents may hand-water plants and shrubs on any day, but only before 8:00 AM or after 6:00 PM. This exception does not apply to lawns. New lawns and plants receive a 60-day establishment period. Watering is permitted any day for the first 30 days. From days 31–60, watering is allowed three days per week, following a written schedule. Even-numbered addresses can water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays during this period. Odd-numbered addresses can water on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Home car washing is restricted to the assigned watering day and must use a hose with a shutoff nozzle. Restaurants must now serve water only upon request.
Enforcement began 14 days after the effective date, with citations issued without warning. The City of Temple Terrace monitors water levels and will issue updates as conditions change. These temporary measures address declining water levels in local aquifers, lakes, and rivers caused by prolonged dry conditions.
