Staffing The Winter Haven Police Department consists of 95 sworn officers and 29 civilians. Accreditation Our Department is accredited by The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement (CALEA) and has been state-accredited by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) since 2002. Programs The Winter Haven Police Department is dedicated to the community through programs such as D.A.R.E., Public Safety Cadets, Neighborhood Watch, and numerous Crime Prevention functions. We have launched an Autism and Dementia Decal Awareness Program for our citizens. Citizens can register for and request decals for their home and vehicle to alert first responders that there could be an occupant with special cognitive needs. This can greatly enhance the approach by first responders ensuring our citizens receive the best care possible. For more information and to register, please email [email protected] The Wallet Card Project is a personalized card letting first responders know important information about the citizen and what kind of reactions they may display. This vital information is critical when some may exhibit traits that could be misunderstood. Winter Haven Police officers have been trained to ensure the success for our citizens.
