Oakland Park City Hall Moves to Sky Building

Staff Writer

Oakland Park City Hall Moves to Sky Building in September

Oakland Park city staff will move to the Sky Building on September 1, consolidating nine departments into a downtown facility developed through a public-private partnership with NR Investments.

The City Manager's Office, Building and Community Services, City Clerk's Office, Economic Development, the Community Redevelopment Agency, Engineering and Community Development, Finance, Human Resources, Parks and Leisure Services, and Utility Billing will occupy the new space. The Sky Building, designed by Zyscovich Architects, contains 119 residential apartments, 17 live-work spaces, 15,000 square feet of commercial space, and 318 parking spaces.

City Commission meetings will remain at the current City Hall location at 3650 NE 12th Avenue in September and move to the Sky Building in October. City services will continue throughout the relocation.

The city plans to redevelop the current City Hall site into the Horizon Project, a mixed-use development designed to create a walkable downtown district.
