The City of Lauderdale Lakes has activated a Hurricane Debris Hotline and deployed contractors to begin clearing storm debris following the recent hurricane. Residents can report damages and debris by calling (954) 535-2815.

Debris removal contractors started operations Tuesday, Sept. 26, focusing initially on vegetative debris, such as tree parts and wooden fences. Residents should place this debris curbside in separate piles. Bagged vegetative debris can go next to green garbage carts for collection by Waste Management on regular collection days.

Other hurricane-related debris, including roofing materials, screens, shingles and metal fences, will be collected later. The city urges residents to separate debris into distinct categories: vegetative debris, construction and demolition debris, household hazardous waste, white goods and electronic waste. A visual guide for proper debris placement is available.

Regular bulk trash collection continues as scheduled. Residents must not mix bulk materials with yard waste, as mixed waste will not be collected.
