Oakland residents will pay more for water, sewer and garbage collection under rate increases effective October 1, 2025, and February 1, 2026.

Water rates follow a tiered structure. Customers pay $21.77 for the first 3,000 gallons, then $3.26 per 1,000 gallons for usage between 3,001 and 10,000 gallons. Rates climb to $4.07 per 1,000 gallons from 10,001 to 15,000 gallons, $5.71 per 1,000 gallons from 15,001 to 20,000 gallons, and $6.51 per 1,000 gallons for consumption above 20,000 gallons. Customers outside town limits pay an additional 25% surcharge.

Sewer rates follow a similar structure with a $15.24 minimum for the first 2,000 gallons, scaling to $6.51 per 1,000 gallons for usage above 20,000 gallons.

The town also implemented a $28.25 monthly garbage collection fee effective February 1, 2026, per Resolution 2025-02. All utility bills carry a 10% tax.

Bills are due on the 10th of each month. Late fees apply starting the 11th. The town disconnects service on the 20th for non-payment without prior notice.

Commercial customers should contact the Utility Billing Department for their specific rates.
