Strong Thunderstorm Threatens Anderson, Roane, and Knox Counties

Residents in Anderson, Roane, and Knox counties should be aware of a strong thunderstorm currently impacting the area. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Morristown has issued a Special Weather Statement, effective immediately until 6:15 PM EDT.

At 5:29 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm near Clinton, moving southeast at 10 mph. This storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 40 mph. If you are outdoors, it is advised to seek shelter inside a building.

The NWS warns that gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations expected to be impacted include Oak Ridge, Clinton, Oliver Springs, Powell, and Karns.
