The City of Pickens is proud to welcome Meagan Nations as our new City Clerk / Human Resources Director, beginning June 15, 2026. A lifelong resident of Pickens County, Meagan takes great pride in serving the community she calls home. She brings eight years of experience as Clerk to Council for Pickens County Council, where she developed a strong foundation in local government and administrative leadership. Meagan earned her Master of Business Administration from Anderson University in 2024, further strengthening her commitment to professional excellence and public service. Outside of work, Meagan enjoys spending time with family and friends, serving at her church, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves In her new role, Meagan looks forward to continuing her service to the citizens of Pickens while supporting our dedicated city employees. Please join us in giving Meagan a warm welcome to the City of Pickens!

Temporary Road Closure on Main Street for Utility Work Pickens, SC – A portion of Main Street in Pickens will be temporarily closed for utility work. The closure is expected to last for one day, June 15th, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Detours will be in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and plan for delays.

This year's theme is 'Oceans of Possibilities'. Children and adults can earn prizes for reading books and attending library events throughout the summer. Registration begins May 20th."
