A Wind Advisory has been issued for Northwest Carter County in Tennessee, and Lee and Wise Counties in Virginia, effective immediately until 4:00 AM EDT Sunday, October 11.
The National Weather Service in Morristown, TN, reports that east winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are expected. These gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects. There is a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and a few power outages.
Drivers, particularly those in high-profile vehicles, should exercise extra caution as strong winds can make driving difficult. Remaining wind gusts are likely to be primarily near or in high terrain, with lower gusts in the lower elevations.
The advisory was issued on October 10 at 8:19 PM EDT and will expire on October 11 at 4:00 AM EDT.
