The Benjamin School has named David Farace as its next Head of School. The Board of Trustees unanimously approved the decision. Farace will assume the role in July 2027, succeeding David Faus, who retires at that time.
The school began its search for a new leader last spring, reviewing 75 candidates and interviewing 14 semi-finalists. The board selected Farace for his strategic vision, operational discipline, and leadership experience, stating these qualities align with the school's culture and long-term objectives. Both the Search Committee and the Faculty Advisory Committee unanimously recommended him.
Farace brings extensive independent school leadership experience. He currently serves as Head of School at McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland. His career includes leadership roles at Montgomery Academy in Alabama and The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. He also held senior administrative positions at Randolph School in Huntsville, Alabama, and worked in admissions, alumni relations, development, teaching, and coaching.
Farace holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Washington and Lee University and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Johns Hopkins University. He is a NAIS/E.E. Ford Fellow, a program that prepares independent school administrators for headship.
The Board of Trustees found Farace’s warmth, strategic acumen, and respect for teaching compelling. They believe he embodies the school's 12 Benjamin Values and offers a forward-looking vision for the North Palm Beach community. Farace and his wife, Becky, will formally join the community next July. The school plans to host events to introduce them to parents, students, alumni, and faculty before then.
