The City of Fort Myers Community Development Department processed 382 new project applications in August 2026, indicating a busy month for local development and renovation. The vast majority of these applications, 381, fell under the 'OTHER' category, with only one application specifically for 'NEW CONSTRUCTION'.

This influx of applications reflects ongoing activity across residential and commercial properties in Fort Myers. Residents will see continued work on homes and businesses as these projects move forward. The high number of 'OTHER' applications suggests a focus on maintaining, upgrading, and adapting existing structures rather than extensive new builds.
