Fort Myers Public Meetings: Early Oct Calendar

Fort Myers residents can attend public meetings from Oct. 5-8 to discuss infrastructure, zoning and affordable housing. Key meetings include discussions on debris removal, downtown pedestrian malls and Comprehensive Plan amendments.

Residents in Fort Myers and North Fort Myers can engage with local government and discuss community projects during public meetings scheduled from Monday, Oct. 5, through Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026. Topics include infrastructure improvements, zoning changes and affordable housing initiatives.

On Monday, Oct. 5, City Hall at 2200 Second Street, Finance East, will host two meetings. A pre-submittal meeting for RSQ #26-096 CEI Services for Waterway Debris Collection & Removal begins at 1 p.m. At 3:30 p.m., a selection committee will discuss RSQ #26-028 Fort Myers Downtown Pedestrian Mall & Micromobility Feasibility Study Rebid, also known as the Carbon Reduction Feasibility Study. A City Council meeting is set for 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

Tuesday, Oct. 6, includes two prebid meetings and two advisory board sessions. A prebid meeting for Michigan Avenue Utility Improvements starts at 9 a.m. at City Hall, Finance East. Another prebid meeting for RSQ #26-031 Carrell Canal Closed Drainage Design will be held virtually at 10 a.m. The Environmental Advisory Board meets at 12:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, followed by the Local Affordable Housing Advisory Committee at 4:30 p.m., also in the Council Chambers.

The Planning Board meets Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m. in the Council Chambers. This meeting includes public hearings on a request to rezone 8.88 +/- acres at 1751 Ortiz Ave. from Planned Unit Development (PUD) to Commercial Intensive (CI). A continued public hearing will address amendments to the Comprehensive Plan regarding Transportation, Conservation & Coastal Management, and Recreation and Open Space. The CRA Advisory Board will meet at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

On Thursday, Oct. 8, a prebid meeting for RSQ #26-039 Downtown Stormwater Drainage Improvements is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at City Hall, Finance East. A Code Enforcement Board meeting, including public hearings, will convene at 1 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
