The Heat Advisory previously in effect for numerous North and Central Texas counties has expired as of 8:00 PM CDT today, September 16. Residents in the affected areas can now expect conditions to return to normal without the elevated heat risk.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Fort Worth TX issued the expiration notice for the following counties: Cooke, Grayson, Fannin, Lamar, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Delta, Hopkins, Tarrant, Dallas, Rockwall, Kaufman, Van Zandt, Rains, Johnson, Ellis, Henderson, Hill, Navarro, Freestone, Anderson, Bell, McLennan, Falls, Limestone, Leon, Milam, and Robertson.
The advisory, which was moderate in severity, was allowed to expire at its scheduled time, indicating that the immediate threat of excessive heat has passed for the region.
