The warning affects Pine Ridge/Nebraska National Forest; Niobrara/Lower Elevations of Converse/Thunder Basin National Grassland; Middle North Platte River Basin/Niobrara and Converse High Plains; North Laramie Range and Adjacent High Plains; North Laramie Valley/Shirley Basin; Ferris/Seminoe/Shirley Mountains; Central and West Carbon; Upper North Platte River Basin; and North Snowy Range Foothills; Bordeaux/Chugwater/Wheatland. Specific Fire Weather Zones impacted are 417 through 422, 425, 427, and 432.
Forecasted conditions include southwest winds between 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph, coupled with relative humidity as low as 11 to 18 percent. These conditions will cause any fires that develop to spread rapidly.
