Dangerous Swimming Conditions for Niagara and Orleans Beaches

Residents and visitors in Niagara and Orleans Counties are advised to stay out of the water due to strong currents and dangerous swimming conditions. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo, NY, has issued a Beach Hazards Statement effective immediately, through Wednesday evening, September 23rd.

The NWS reports that these conditions pose a significant risk to swimmers. The affected areas include all beaches along Niagara and Orleans Counties.

To ensure safety, authorities urge everyone to avoid entering the water. The strong currents can quickly overwhelm even experienced swimmers.

This Beach Hazards Statement was issued on September 22 at 10:06 PM EDT and remains in effect until September 23 at 8:00 PM EDT.
