Newton residents should be aware of upcoming adjustments to the regular garbage and recycling collection schedule due to two federal holidays. These changes will affect pickup days for several routes in late June and early July.
In observance of Juneteenth, there will be no garbage or recycling pickup on Wednesday, June 19th. The Wednesday routes are rescheduled for Thursday, June 20th. Consequently, Thursday and Friday routes will be collected one day later than usual.
Further schedule modifications will occur for Independence Day. On Thursday, July 4th, there will be no garbage or recycling collection. Thursday and Friday routes will be shifted to be picked up one day behind their normal schedule.
Residents are advised to plan accordingly for these holiday-related service interruptions to ensure their waste and recyclables are collected promptly.
