Morning commuters on the Clatsop, Tillamook, and Central Coasts of Oregon are advised to slow down and use headlights due to areas of fog, some locally dense, impacting visibility.

A Special Weather Statement has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Portland OR, effective from 5:41 AM PDT until 9:00 AM PDT today, October 6, 2026. Roadway visibility may be reduced to less than one mile in affected areas. The NWS warns of rapidly changing visibility conditions.

Drivers are urged to slow down, turn on headlights, and maintain ample distance from other vehicles. Pedestrians and cyclists should wear bright or reflective clothing and carry a light to enhance their visibility to drivers.
