West Virginia Honey Trail: Monongalia County Beekeepers

Visit Mountaineer Country, the Mon County Beekeepers Association, and the West Virginia Department of Agriculture launched the West Virginia Honey Trail, a route through Monongalia County and state parks that showcases local honey producers and pollinator conservation efforts.
Participants can sample honey varieties from wildflower to buckwheat at local businesses including Almost Heaven Desserts (27 Cheat Landing, Morgantown) and Annie's Coffee & Creamery (700 Fort Pierpont Drive, Morgantown). Mission Beelieve, featured at Annie's, offers beekeeping training for first responders and veterans. Mayfield Farm contributes organic flowers to the trail.
The trail extends to Coopers Rock State Forest, Arthurdale, and Coopers Rock Retreat, an Airbnb with trails and wildflowers. Visitors can access the route through the Visit Mountaineer Country Trip Planner App under "Day Trips" or view the web version of the trail map.
The initiative encourages participants to share photos on social media using #WVHoneyTrail and tagging @VisitMountaineerCountry.
