Craven County is developing a Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) to guide the region's transportation needs for the next two to three decades. The plan will examine all modes of travel, including bicycle, pedestrian, public transit, aviation, rail, and roadways, to identify future needs and prioritize projects.
Residents are invited to learn more about the CTP and provide their input at a public meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 9, 2024. The meeting will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the West Craven Middle School Gymnasium, located at 500 U.S. Hwy 70 West in Vanceboro.
The CTP is a long-range planning document that aims to address the evolving transportation requirements of Craven County. By studying various transportation methods, officials hope to create a roadmap for infrastructure development and improvements that will serve the community effectively for years to come.
The public meeting offers an opportunity for residents to engage directly with the planning process. Attendees can visit the gymnasium at any time during the two-hour window to gather information and share their perspectives on current and future transportation challenges and priorities within the county.
For those seeking additional information before or after the meeting, the Craven County Planning Department can be reached by phone at 252-636-6618.
