Wind Advisory Issued: Secure Loose Objects, Use Caution Driving
A Wind Advisory is in effect for Western Millard and Juab Counties and Southwest Utah until 6 AM MDT Sunday, with winds up to 45 mph; secure loose objects and drive with caution.
Residents in Western Millard and Juab Counties, and Southwest Utah are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and exercise extreme caution while driving due to a Wind Advisory in effect. The National Weather Service (NWS) Salt Lake City has issued the advisory, which is active from now until 6:00 AM MDT Sunday, October 11.
South winds are expected to reach 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph during this period. These conditions can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles and those towing trailers. Loose debris may be moved, and there is a possibility of property damage and power outages.
Following the Wind Advisory, a High Wind Warning will be in effect from 6:00 AM MDT Sunday to 6:00 AM MDT Monday, October 12. During the High Wind Warning, south winds are forecast to intensify to 25 to 35 mph, with gusts potentially reaching 60 mph. People are urged to secure any outdoor items that could be blown around or damaged by the wind.
