The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster and emergency preparedness for the hazards that can impact their community. Through CERT, citizens can learn basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT members can assist their community following a disaster when professional responders are overwhelmed. This volunteer opportunity is critical for building community resilience.
