A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, affecting several counties in the region until 10:00 AM CDT today, September 30.

Visibility is reported to be one-quarter mile or less at times due to dense fog. This advisory impacts portions of northwest Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, and east central, south central, and southeast South Dakota.

Specifically, the advisory covers Lyon, Lincoln, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, and Rock counties in Minnesota; Dixon County in Nebraska; and Brookings, Gregory, Miner, Lake, Moody, Davison, Hanson, McCook, Minnehaha, Charles Mix, Douglas, Hutchinson, Turner, Lincoln, Bon Homme, Yankton, Clay, and Union counties in South Dakota.

Driving conditions may be hazardous due to low visibility or rapidly changing visibility. Motorists are advised to slow down, use their headlights, and maintain plenty of distance from other vehicles. The advisory is effective immediately and expires at 10:00 AM CDT.
