Dense Fog Expected This Morning Across Multiple Counties

Drivers in Rockcastle, Pulaski, Laurel, Wayne, McCreary, Whitley, Knox, and Bell counties should be aware of dense fog until 9:30 AM EDT, impacting visibility and requiring extra caution on the roads.

Drivers in Rockcastle, Pulaski, Laurel, Wayne, McCreary, Whitley, Knox, and Bell counties are advised to exercise extreme caution this morning, Thursday, September 25, due to expected dense fog. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Jackson, KY, issued a Special Weather Statement at 5:50 AM EDT, effective until 9:30 AM EDT.

Following recent rainfall, clearing skies and decreasing winds are creating conditions for fog, particularly in valleys south of the Cumberland Parkway to Hal Rogers Parkway and the KY 80 corridor. Visibility may drop below half a mile in some areas.

The NWS urges drivers to slow down, be prepared for sudden changes in visibility, and maintain ample distance between vehicles. Use low beam headlights and allow extra time to reach your destination. The statement is issued by NWS Jackson KY.
